Owen vs. Snake

When I arrived home after work yesterday I went out back with the dogs to soak up some of the glorious sun. As I peered down at the ground I saw this, a tiny snake.

Owen was not sure what to make of it, but Lexie knew she wanted a piece of him.

Alas, not to be upstaged by an 8 pound pup, Owen decided to go all in for it. Luckily I pulled him away before mister snake bit Owen in the nose.

Spring Forward

We have been blessed with a few days of nice weather lately and I have been craving some new summer sandals. I think I found them!

And speaking of Michael Kors, this image arrived in my inbox last week and I said to my self "I want that look, all of it". Love it.

Clearing Out

This page from the latest Redbook magazine caught my eye the other day. Wouldn’t we all love to have a linen closet this organized? The key to achieving this look is to keep just the essentials in there. Do we really need 14 sets of sheets? How many extra towels do you need – do you keep some stashed in the bathroom as well?

My linen closet is more of a “linen stack hallway” of sorts. I have numerous sets of sheets – which I only use when I need to cover something up in the attic. What about all those dish towels, they have been stashed away in there since we moved in, do I really need to hang on to them? How many pillows and comforters do I really need to hang on to?

I must admit that I do stock up on paper products – toilet tissue, Kleenex and paper towels – from our local wholesale club. However this picture shows that you can still keep all those rolls and boxes organized.

I really like how those clear plastic bins corral all those extra toiletries and such. Again, where can I petition to get a Container Store in my state?!?!?

On a related side note, I have been on a cleaning-out kick as of late. I try to go through a cabinet or drawer each day and get rid of (either trash or donate) at least 3 things. When was the last time you went through your medicine cabinet or your junk drawer?

I also have been combing through my closet, creating a large donation box of items for the next agency that calls and offers a pickup. Now that the change of seasons is upon us what better time to look through your clothes and ask yourself if you wore each item over the past 6 months. If the answer is no then donate.

Shopping Slang

I have this cute little "shopaholics" calendar on my desk and I couldn't resist sharing today's entry.

Shoptailing: The art of shopping while enjoying numerous cocktails.

Girl 1: I'm bored and I really need a new pair of jeans.

Girl 2: Looks like some serious shoptailing is required.

Bath Time

I came across this bath in the March issue of House Beautiful, a girl's dream bath come true if you ask me! The lovely Shannon at The Simply Luxurious Life did a great post on the same bath, be sure to stop over and check out the details.
I've always wondered how you can dress up the top of a toilet.
Here is the same bath styled a bit differently.

I came across this Atlanta home in the latest Traditional Home magazine and instantly fell in love. Interior designer Amy Bergman and her husband teamed up with architect Linda MacArthur to build their dream home.

I love the subdued hues.

The marble surround on this bath is heaven.

Does this picture even need a description?

I LOVE the lines of this bench against the staircase.

The outdoor fireplace is the icing on the cake.
