Working Out

I have been meaning to post on this for a while but wanted to wait a bit to give a credible review. A few months back I heard about the Brazil Butt Lift DVD series from my friend Franki. Since I believe she has great taste, plus the ladies here raved about the series, I figured I would give them a shot.

I must say I now have a love/hate relationship with the Bum Bum workout. This workout is 30 minutes of nonstop lunges, squats and various leg/butt exercises. I love it because I definitely feel the burn and I hate it for the same reason. This workout, produced by Beachbody (also known for their P90 and Turbo Jam series), is great that it has a timer at the bottom of the screen letting you know how much time you have left on a particular exercise and overall time left in the video. Ten minutes into this workout I am praying for the cool down to hurry up and get here. By the time I am done with this workout my butt and legs are exhausted and I am dripping with sweat. This is supposed to be a butt workout but I also count it as cardio since it gets my heart pumping.

There are other DVDs included in this series, my next favorite being the High & Tight, a standing and mat based workout for the butt/legs. I also keep the Tummy Tuck (abs) workout in my rotation.

Right now I am trying to run 3 mornings during the week and at least once on the weekend. I try to do the Bum Bum workout at least once a week if not more. I am also back to regular old fashioned lifting weights. I am hoping between the running, weights, Zumba here and there and Leandro's workouts I can drop a few pounds. I will keep you posted.

Catching Up

This past week has been a total whirlwind. All day Saturday we were at the ballfield watching Cman play, from 8:30am to 8pm. It would not have been bad if Kevin didn't have to keep the books and sit in the dugout the entire time. And if the winds were not 30 mph it would have been nice too. Then at 6:30am Sunday morning we got the text that our friend S's water broke, the baby was on the way. I spent the next 3 1/2 days taking care of their little girl P, my favorite sweetheart. I seriously don't know how you mom's do it. Last night was the first night Kevin and I got to chillax and hang out together. The boy was supposed to have another baseball tournament this weekend but it was cancelled, so we will be playing more catch up, visiting the new baby, another friend's baby's birthday party and hopefully enjoying some nice weather outside.

And because I didn't want to write a post sans photos, here is one I snapped of Dink the other morning while I was getting ready in the bathroom. Rough life he has.

How Lucky

How cool would it be to have Madonna as your mom? Very cool if you ask me. The latest pictures I see of Madonna with her first daughter Lordes, the more and more she is looking like her mom.

Style Dose

I spent a few nights at the ball field this week watching the boy play (he had his best hits last night, go C-man!) so I have been perusing the People app on my iPhone in between innings. I came across a few ladies whose "fashion" sparked my interest. What do you think?

Carrie Underwood, I think she just has a glow about her, kind of the girl next door look. I don't know who her stylist is but I give her major props.

Demi Moore, I know I have raved about her before, but gosh, for 47 years old she has got it going. I also find it hard to believe that she doesn't workout, claims she recently started doing yoga.

Even without makeup and her hair done she still looks great.

Nicole Richie, this girl has definitely found her look. I don't know what it is but something about her style usually grabs my attention.

And her daughter Harlow is just too cute for words!

Jessica Alba, I admit I have never been a fan of hers, but I have seen pictures of her lately where she looks happy and her style is definitely up my alley.

Kelly Ripa, she has been on my list before and still is. Love her.

Okay, the next two gals you are going to think I am nutso but hear me out.

Ashley Olsen, let's just say she cleans up well. Cute taste in puppies and high heels if I do say so.

Mary Kate Olsen, whose hair and makeup look spot on in this picture.

First Haircut

Last Friday Owen got his first haircut, I think he looks too cute!

Bad Mommy

This afternoon while I was downing my lunch I noticed that Owen kept scratching at the front door. I yelled at him to stop but he continued and started whining. I went about my business and finally went to see what O was being such a baby about. Turns out I locked my poor baby Lexie outside and she was pawing at the front door to be let in. Apparently when we went to check the mail (a daily ritual) Lex did not make it back in the house before I shut the door. I am such a bad mommy, what if O was not smart enough to alert me she was out there? I would be devastated, although I am sure I would have figured it out when it came time to put them in their crates.

What made me even more upset about this was that I had a dream last night that somebody stole Lexie and when I got her back she was in really bad shape, sick and her fur all gross. I woke up this morning feeling terrible about the dream, must have been some kind of premonition. Needless to say Lex is going to get some extra love from her mommy tonight.

Running and Running and Running

Whew, the past few days have been a whirlwind, but I thrive in that kind of environment so I can't complain. It is almost the end of the year for Junior League so I have been very busy with those activities. My sorority alumnae club also has several events coming up that I am helping with. One of my best friends is going to have a baby boy any day. I am trying to plan a trip for my best friend in Ohio to come to visit. I am almost done with my real estate classes. The boy (my stepson) started his baseball season this week. My flower beds are in need of some flowers. I could go on and on but you get the picture.

Speaking of running, over the weekend I got new running shoes and have been slowly breaking them in all week. I have to admit that I am very out of shape when it comes to cardio so it has been a rough few mornings on my runs. Again, that is okay, I need the kick in the butt.

I am hosting a Junior League event at my home this evening and am looking forward to a sparkling clean house, good food and great company. Definitely stop by for a glass of wine and girl time. Cheers!

Sunny Days

Tomorrow is my birthday so I thought I would share some treats with you, some random pictures I have collected on my computer. I have no plans for the weekend except to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. Cheers!

And thank you to my stepmom for scanning in all these old pictures, I love them!

Beautiful Day

It is truly a beautiful day here today, the sun is shining, the temperature is supposed to be in the upper 60's and most importantly it is NOT supposed to be windy! No matter how long I have lived in OK I am still not used to the brutal wind. The boy has his first in season baseball game tonight so I am very thankful for the beautiful day.

And because I didn't want to write a post without a picture, here is a snap of Lexie all too excited when I told her I was talking to Roxy's mom.

Equals sooooo good!

This morning on my way to work I saw the oddest looking vehicle in front of me. Meet the Nissan Cube. Definitely not my style, what do you think?

I did stop at Starbucks this morning (no scoot today, too windy and chance of rain). While there I picked up a 3 pack of their Italian Roast Via instant coffee packets. I figure I will give them a try for a pick me up in the afternoon. Will keep you posted on my thoughts.

Mark Your Calendars

Mark your calendars ladies, Sex and the City 2 comes out next month, May 28th. Can't wait! Catch a trailer here.

So Long...

That's right, I am saying so long, goodbye to spending time indoors now that spring is here. Our weekend flew by but we had a great time. Friday afternoon I indulged in a very much needed pedicure (at a non-Asian nail place!). I brought my own polish, my new shade for the summer, Essie Peach Daiquiri. So pretty for the toes.

Saturday was another great day, windy but warm. I took the dogs out for a quick walk which they loved (Lexiepoop doesn't really care for walks). That night we took the boy to a friend's house where the kids decorated Easter eggs. It was great to hang out with friends and their precious little ones. Sunday was again another gorgeous day that we spent with family and friends. I took my favorite little girl to the park and she had a blast - I have a feeling this is going to be a common recurrence this summer, which is fine by me.
It was hard getting up this morning for work, but what are you going to do. I rode my scoot in for the first time this year, go me! Let's just hope it doesn't rain on me. Let's also hope my work week is productive so I can enjoy the outdoors once I get home.

My Doggies

I snapped this picture the other night. Lexie was chewing on her mangled squeaky toy and Owen was being a baby just waiting for her to turn her head so he could snatch the toy away from her. Brats.
