Spring is in the Air

Last night I mustered up the energy to take my dogs for a walk. The sun was out, the weather was in the 70's, it was great. While out I snapped a few pictures that show spring is really here.

This is my favorite picture. First, I don't understand people who think that weeds = front lawn. Second, this is a great picture of Owen's growing white patch on his tail!

Haute Dog

Don't we all agree that my Lexie needs this pink sequin jacket on sale today on Hautelook? They have a bunch of adorable things on sale for little doggies.

Way Under the Weather

I don't know what bug I caught but I have been very sick for the past few days. I did pull my act together to throw my dear friend a great baby shower on Saturday morning. I snapped a few pictures before the guests arrived, man do I need to work on my photog skills. Okay, back to my B.R.A.T. diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) and prayers that I get back on track, I have a lot on my plate right now!

Under the Weather

I have been dealing with sinus aches and pains the past few days, no fun. But what has been getting me through are these things below. My latest drink of choice, hot water steeped with fresh ginger and lemon. Works wonders, trust me. I also don't mind the taste of the emergenC so that is easy to drink a few packets a day.

And my latest find, Rosebud Salve in a squeeze tube. I have read about RS for years in magazines but I have a thing against balms in the jars that you have to apply with your finger. No matter how clean your hands are it still grosses me out that germs can breed in there. Anyway, I found this at Anthropologie the other day and have been using it ever since. Love it!

And speaking of Anthro, I also picked up the book I blogged about the other day. Can't wait to dive in and make some yumminess.

Okay, back to work for me. I am also planning a huge baby shower for Saturday, can't wait to share pictures, I think it is going to turn out fab if I do say so myself!

Get in My Belly!

I recently read an article in one of my magazines (in case you have not picked up on it yet I subscribe to A LOT of magazines, I justify it as job security (I work for the Post Office)) on Sophie Dahl, model turned chef. I not only love her accent (a British accent gets me all the time), but her ability to seamlessly throw together a bunch of ingredients to make a beautifully finished dish. I would love to get my hands on a copy of her book, but in the mean time I can make her asparagus soup recipe. Yum.

Pretty in Pink

I was leaving Petco the other night (had to get Owen his month's supply of the world's most expensive dog food) and I saw a pink Maltese getting groomed. For real. I have heard of people dying their dog's fur, but come on, this is Norman, Oklahoma, not LA or NY. Totally dinkulous.

Speaking of dinkulous, here is a picture of Lex and Owen I found on my phone. Brats.

Tips from the Top

I was watching a segment on Martha's show the other day and she had the two women behind Shopafrolic on, Liz Lange and Jane Wagman. I love their story and immediately signed up to get their daily emails.

From a very young age, it was clear that both of us had inherited our mother’s disease, we loved the rush of a great purchase, the thrill of a successful day of shopping. And as long as we both shall live, we will never be able to resist the magic pull of the Bergdorf’s windows. It is a sickness, yes. But it is the most wonderful sickness in the world and we would like to share it with you.
But you see, a few months ago, a terrible thing happened. The economy crashed. And people stopped shopping. Some went cold turkey. Not us. As the proud daughters of a full-blown shopaholic, we know that quitting is not the answer. Quitting is never the answer. If ever there was a time to shop, it is now. (Really! Have you seen the sales out there?!). Yes, it is up to us, girls. If we don’t help the economy get back on its feet, who will?
As a very well-dressed woman’s husband once said, “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”
So we can be brave. We can be strong. We can go forth and shop.

Call her Crazy!

I am not sure what Cathe is doing here, but whatever it is is working for her! Check out more still pics from her latest DVD collection here. I have done her workouts on and off over the years and she is killer, trust me!

Jam On It

I came across this playlist in my latest Fitness magazine and thought I would share. I think I am going to get these songs for my iPod, I need a new playlist to keep me rollin.

How Does She Do It?

I caught some of the red carpet coverage of the Oscars the other night and thought that Demi Moore rocked her look.

While scanning the web for pictures of her outfit I came across this close up of her face. Seriously, she is closer to 50 than 40 and yet has nearly flawless skin. If anybody knows what she uses for skincare or her routine please share!

I hear she does P90X to stay in shape. I did a round of P90X and did NOT look like her. But I guess we all have our flaws (notice the unfavorable back fat (if you can call it that) that resulted from squeezing into her gown).

Another celeb that I like is Jessica Biel, she is real, not over the top fake. Well in my opinion anyway. I came across this article on some of her workouts and thought I would share.

I saw this ad in one of my magazines over the weekend and immediately tore it out. I have never used Chanel makeup before but I am very tempted to take this picture in to their makeup counter and have them replicate the look on me. I don't think it will look as flawless as it does on the model, but I love the lip color and the subtle eyes.

Those Legs...

I came across this page in my latest People Style Watch magazine and could not help but tear it out to share with you all. Jen looks amazing in my opinion so I am glad we got in on some of her secrets. I am not sure that I will be wearing those short skirts or shorts but everything else I am up for trying. You can click on the picture to enlarge. TGIF!

The Zoe

If you are not yet signed up to receive Rachel Zoe's newsletter, stop what you are doing and head on over to her site. Granted she has much more expensive taste than I do but in her daily newsletter she also gives you a Parallel Universe (much more affordable) option. If anything use it for inspiration.

Also had to give a heads up on some delish new tea I discovered via Slim Paley's blog. This tea has just the right amount of sweetness and zing to it, perfect!

Yay Me!

I subscribe to Tobi Farley's wonderful blog and look forward to getting her posts in my inbox. The month of February she was doing a favorite things series on all sorts of beauties. She was also hosting a giveaway for a great Perennials Tote Bag the other day and I won, yay me! I love totes of all shapes, sizes and fabrics and can't wait to get this one. Thanks again Tobi!

And in case you don't subscribe to House Beautiful magazine (shame on you!), her work was just published on the cover. One of my favorites from the spread was this tufted wall. What a chic idea!

And how amazing is this chandelier?

Thanks again Tobi for all you do!
